Early information from police indicated that a second suspect ran into the high school, which is located at 6529 Beverly Hill. Later, police said the second suspect was in custody, and everyone at the school is safe.
During an afternoon press conference, police said there was an exchange of fire between the 18-year-old suspect and an officer at about 11:25 a.m. That suspect was reportedly shot in the knee and is expected to be OK. No officers were hurt.
The second suspect, 17 years old, was arrested on campus after police say he asked a stranger for a ride to school.
Police said the driver was just an "everyday person" and thought they were doing a good deed by giving the kid a ride.
After the 17-year-old was taken to the school, he went into the auditorium where at least 100 other students were, police said.
Authorities said they were then able to take the suspect into custody safely.

The two scenes are about a mile away from each other. One gun was reportedly recovered at the first scene where the shooting occurred.
The district said in a tweet just before 2 p.m. that "the school is currently on lockdown due to suspicious activity in the area. No one will be allowed in or out of the campus until the lockdown is lifted. Please await further communication to come momentarily."
ABC13 was at the school when police initially responded and noted that parents were showing up to the campus.
