According to Harris County Constable Precinct 5, one of their deputies on S. Sam Houston Parkway at Almeda noticed a vehicle speeding and called additional units.

The driver didn't stop when deputies tried to pull them over, Pct. 5 said.
SkyEye flew over the scene following the pursuit, where officers could be seen using spike strips to try to stop the suspect during a chase that covered a lot of ground.
Officials said the driver eventually reached a stop near Santa Fe, telling deputies they were running late for work.
Video showed what appeared to be the end of the pursuit along Highway 6, not too far from Tiki Island, with a black sedan surrounded by multiple police units. "Constables, sheriff's deputies - it's a huge contingent," Don Armstrong with SkyEye 13 said, sharing his perspective of the chase.
"This is mainly because of the fact of the length of the chase," he said. "This chase actually started near the Sagemont area, which is 45 Gulf Freeway and South Sam Houston Tollway, went all the way down 45 to Galveston, over the Causeway bridge, then made a turn, came back, and we've been hunting for him ever since."

Pct. 4 said the chase suspect was arrested and had already been pulled over previously for evading officers.
