New details in dramatic high-speed police chase

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We're learning more about the two men now facing federal charges in connection with a high-speed chase across Houston on Friday.

According to federal court documents, it all started as a bank robbery in Bellaire when investigators say Christopher Bishop and Travis Drain demanded cash from tellers. Court documents show five bank employees were inside the bank during the robbery and one was able to call 911 during the hold up.

Bishop and Drain later took off in a black Mercedes as it raced down Houston's freeways at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. It ended just off the North Freeway.

After being arrested, documents show Bishop confessed to robbing the bank earlier in the day. The two are also suspected of robbing a courier outside of a Wells Fargo on the east side just minutes before the Bellaire bank robbery. Bishop and Drain are expected in court again Wednesday.
