HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If you're having a skin emergency but you don't have the product to deal with that pimple or inflammation, items you likely already have in your home could save the day. Dr. Sherry Ingraham of Advanced Dermatology shared the following quick, at-home skin remedies:

ASPIRIN: Crush an aspirin, mix with a drop of water and mash into a paste to apply to a pimple if you are in a pinch. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory and contains an acne-fighting acid.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to two cups of water and apply the vinegar to the face using a washcloth or cotton balls. The apple cider vinegar works as a toner with anti-acne and cleansing benefits.

RAW, LOCAL HONEY: Use a cotton swab to apply honey to a pimple breakout. It will help speed up the healing process.

OATMEAL: Oatmeal makes a soothing mask for inflamed or acne-prone skin. Mix raw old fashioned rolled oats with water into a paste in the blender. Apply to the face and rinse after 10 minutes.

GREEN TEA: Green tea makes another great soothing mask, specifically for red inflamed skin or acne-prone skin. Steep two bags of green tea in a cup of hot water for five minutes. After the tea cools, soak a washcloth in the tea and lay the washcloth on your face for 10 minutes.
