The "Lab Rescue of the LRCP" group is based in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC, but they help dogs across the country.
This is the non-profit's first transport to rescue Harvey dogs, but they strive to make more.

Some of the labs came from "Houston Pets Alive," but others came from a flooded shelter in Beaumont where about 30 dogs drowned during the storm.
"Houston Pets Alive" wasn't a physical shelter until after they rescued hundreds of dogs during Harvey. They are a branch of "Austin Pets Alive," which contributed to Austin becoming a "no-kill" city. They aim to make Houston a "no-kill" city as well.
