SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A carjacking next to a used car lot ended with a victim being shot in the head Saturday afternoon. The robber remains at large after he fled in the stolen car.

The person who was shot was sitting in another car, and may have been collateral damage during the crime.

The suspect pulled another man out of the vehicle he was in and drove away.

J. Thomas, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Major Offenders Group, said that driver is being questioned as a direct witness. It's not known if he was the legal owner of the vehicle that was taken.

"There were customers inside the car lot office," Thomas said. "According to the witnesses, two men were outside, met up, and then this happened."

The condition of the victim who was shot was said to be critical.
