Man wounds himself after allegedly shooting girlfriend to death in Cleveland, TX: Deputies

SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is in critical condition after allegedly shooting his girlfriend to death before turning the gun on himself in San Jacinto County on Saturday evening, deputies said.

The incident happened in the 6000 block of FM 1725 in Cleveland, Texas, shortly after 6:30 p.m.

According to the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the area after receiving reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, deputies said a woman was found shot in the front yard, and the man was found next to her, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Deputies said he was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition via medical helicopter.

Investigators determined this was an isolated incident between the two, and there was no threat to the public.



An investigation is ongoing.
