Man struck and killed by car after hitting dog and pulling over in north Harris County, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities are investigating a crash where they say a man was struck and killed after he hit a dog and pulled over in north Harris County on Thursday.

The fatal crash happened at 21000 Cypresswood Drive near FM 1960 at about 6:15 a.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the man, identified as Brad Webb, pulled his car over after hitting a dog on Cypresswood Drive.

Webb reportedly got out of his car to pull the dog away from the road, but as he was doing so, a white Chevy Malibu was traveling north on the right lane and hit him.

ABC13's SkyEye video of the crash showed the heavy damage to the front of the Malibu, including a shattered windshield.

HCSO said Webb was in the right lane and failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.



Webb was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.

Deputies said the driver that hit Webb did stay at the scene.
