BROCKTON, Massachusetts (KTRK) -- Cellphone video shows a daring rescue as firefighters carry an elderly man from a three-story blaze.

Paul Mulloy, 82, was removed from a balcony on the third floor of the building. Mulloy was unable to get out on his own and sustained major injuries by the time firefighters arrived, according to local reports.

Mulloy's family stated that he had burns on 35 percent of his body.

The firefighters involved in the rescue, Lieutenant Christopher O'Reilly and Firefighter Zachery Davis, suffered second-degree burns and were being treated at the hospital.

The fire was reported by a passerby, according to Brockton Fire Deputy Chief Charles Davis. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
