HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A suspected drunk driver is expected to appear before a judge Monday morning after deputies say he was under the influence in a deadly crash on the North Freeway.

Jose Juan Flores has been charged with intoxication manslaughter when deputies say he crashed his yellow Corvette into the back of a Kia Soul overnight Saturday on I-45 and Rankin.

Investigators say Genise Sutton was driving in front of the Corvette. Flores was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit the Kia, forcing Sutton to drive off the road and hit a wall.

The passenger of the Kia, Daly Sutton, was killed.

Genise suffered serious bodily injuries and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

Deputies found that Flores was intoxicated.
