The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said a shooting call came in from a Valero corner store along State Highway 36 at about 10:23 a.m. at Simon's Burger Grill & More.
In an evening update, the Needville Police Department confirmed one person had been shot at the business.
The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to the hospital, where they later died.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, according to police.
