Formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1974, 38 Special will grace the House of Blues stage on May 10.
The group is named after the weapons police brought to quiet down an early rehearsal session.
Their first hit was "Hold on Loosely," which was released in 1981.
