After a short pursuit, MCPD called the Houston Police Department for backup, according to Chief Troy Finner.
Finner said the suspect, between 25 and 30 years old, pulled into the front yard of a home in the 15500 block of Corsair Road and then fired at the officers, two of the bullets struck Missouri City Police Officer Crystal Sepulveda. The suspect then ran off.
Video shows officers rushing Officer Sepulveda to the hospital with one gunshot wound to the face and one to the foot, investigators said. Authorities say she is expected to be OK.
As the search continued, multiple agencies set up a perimeter in the 1500 block of Winter Briar Drive and they found the suspect in the backyard of one of the homes, investigators said.
Authorities said the suspect opened fire at HPD, the Department of Public Safety, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office before four officers shot him multiple times.

The suspect was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
"We never celebrate the loss of life, but what (can we) do when a suspect is so violent? I'm not here to put him down. He has a family and we are praying for the family," Finner said. "Let's not forget what happened out here. This suspect carjacked somebody (on Friday), then shot a police officer at another location. Then shot at officers at this location. He was armed with two automatic pistols with extended magazines. That's what we're facing and everybody needs to know it."
