Elderly man with Alzheimer's missing for 10 days

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Texas EquuSearch is looking for an elderly man with Alzheimer's who has been missing for 10 days.

Victor Chavez, 79, was last seen in the Houston area on Feb. 25. He was wearing a black cowboy hat, a navy blue button-down shirt, black Dickies pants and black tennis shoes.

Chavez, a Hispanic male with a medium complexion, has short gray hair and green eyes. He is 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.

He has a five-inch scar on his right leg and often stumbles due to a hip injury.

According to family members, Chavez likes to walk and responds to the nickname "abuelo."

In addition to Alzheimer's, Chavez suffers from dementia, his granddaughter said.
