HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 16-year-old girl who had been missing since Tuesday has been found safe, officials said.

Katrina Phillips said her daughter with special needs had been missing since Thursday.Mary Durrett was last seen near Hermann Park.

Mary also goes by Violet and she had never disappeared before.

According to the family, Mary left the house in the Museum District to go for a walk. She didn't have her phone or money with her and only a light sweater. This was when the area had snow and a cold dip in temperatures. Her family said they had no idea where she may have spent the night.

Only one friend has reported having contact with her and that was on Friday.

Her mother said without her medication she engages in risky behavior and doesn't think clearly.
