Medical examiner: Meningitis killed Harris Co. deputy, not gas leak

Thursday, August 10, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that Michael Collins, the Harris County deputy who was found dead in his home in July, died of bacterial meningitis.

Family members originally believed a gas leak might have killed Collins.

Collins had been with the department since 1991.
