Maryland bus driver suspended for allegedly reading newspaper while driving

WASHINGTON, D.C (KTRK) -- A Maryland METRO bus driver has been suspended for allegedly reading the newspaper while driving.

A passenger captured the moment on cellphone video on Sept. 8, showing the driver appearing to have the paper over the steering wheel.

The video was posted on Twitter by Myles Hill.

One of the other passengers said the driver was so distracted the he almost missed one of the bus stops.

A METRO spokesperson reached out to Hill after he shared the Twitter video and said the company is investigating.

They described the video as "disturbing and completely unacceptable."
