D.C. Cannabis Coalition to hand out free pot on Inauguration Day

WASHINGTON D.C. (KTRK) -- If you needed another reason to attend Inauguration Day in Washington D.C., how about free marijuana.

The D.C. Cannabis Coalition says it will hand out thousands of free joints during President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.

Recreational marijuana is legal in D.C, but the group is hoping to legalize it at the federal level.

The State Highway Patrol says troopers found 71 pounds of marijuana and other drugs wrapped as Christmas gifts in a vehicle that was stopped for a driving violation in northwest Ohio.
