Anti-abortion advocates gathered in Washington, D.C. on Friday for the March for Life, an annual event for abortion rights opponents.

The event happens in Washington, D.C. each year around the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case, which legalized abortion.

Vice President Pence addressed the crowd, making him the first vice president to speak at the event.

He said President Donald Trump will "work with the Congress to end taxpayer funding of abortion and abortion providers, and we will devote those resources to health care services for women across America."

Kellyanne Conway also spoke at the event. The rally was followed by a march through the streets of the capital.
