Teen cop helps capture chase suspect in Conroe

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A community came together today to make a local teen's wish come true, and she even helped stop a police chase on her first day in uniform.

Lauryn Williams, 16, loves the TV show 'Cops' and wanted to become one herself.

Conroe police teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make it happen.

Surrounded by family, Williams was sworn in as a Conroe police officer.

She earned her lunch! Lauryn experienced her first police chase.

The suspect did stop, but he took off running. Lauryn's K-9 partner took him down and she arrested the bad guy.

Great work by Officer Williams today!
