Customers are complaining that the leggings, which sell for about $25 plus shipping, are ripping easily. Some even claim that within just hours of being worn for the first time the leggings develop small holes and tears.

A Business Insider report showed LuLaRoe representatives are well aware of the issue. A recent article quoted the head of production for the company as saying, "The leggings may get holes, because we weaken the fibers to make them buttery soft. We have done all we can to fix them."
This admission has done little to stop the growing complaints. A Facebook group titled LuLaRoe Defective/Ripped/Torn Leggings and Clothes now has more than 16,000 members.
The company's Facebook page and Twitter account have also been inundated with complaints about the quality of the leggings. The company is encouraging customers to send them direct messages so they can address individual complaints but does acknowledge a higher than usual amount of emails and messages at this time.

LuLaRoe is a direct sales, multi-level marketing company that employees consultants to sell their leggings, dresses, skirts and shirts. The independent retailers are a big part of the company's recent rise in sales with nearly 72,000 employed nationwide. Now it's these individuals who are reportedly on the hook for the defective merchandise.
In a statement LuLaRoe defended the quality of its clothes, saying that by and large consumers love their products. It reiterated that the company's independent consultants are encouraged to help customers exchange or receive refunds for items that are unsatisfactory.
LuLaRoe is also currently fighting a lawsuit for allegedly charging customers tax in states where sales tax on clothing is not applicable.
