HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Noted Hollywood attorney Lisa Bloom, who in recent days was dogged over her representation of Harvey Weinstein, is moving on to represent the alleged victim in a domestic violence case against a Houston rapper.

Bloom announced on her Twitter account Monday that she will litigate on behalf of the alleged victim in the case against Z-Ro.

"Proud to announce I represent singer and songwriter Just Brittany in her domestic violence case against Z-Ro," tweeted Bloom.

Up until Saturday, Bloom represented powerful Hollywood film executive Harvey Weinstein. Bloom drew backlash from various women's and victim's rights groups over advising the film producer amid allegations of sexual harassment by different women over the years.

Under intense scrutiny, Bloom decided to no longer back Weinstein.

Weinstein has since been removed from his position at his movie studio The Weinstein Company.

The rapper, whose real name is Joseph McVey, was arrested in July for the alleged incident that reportedly took place in April of this year.

According to court documents, McVey was accused of slapping, punching and dragging his girlfriend, a rapper who goes by the name Just Brittany.

McVey's then-girlfriend showed authorities a video that she claimed she recorded of that night, according to deputies. It was allegedly over canceled dinner plans.

McVey was expected to appear for an arraignment on his aggravated assault charge last week.

Bloom's noted clients include the mother of Rob Kardashian's child, Blac Chyna, and Kathy Griffin during her backlash over a graphic picture in protest of President Trump.
