KLEIN, Texas (KTRK) -- Students and staff at Klein Forest High School were forced to evacuate Tuesday after smoke filled the hallways, according to the school district.
In a statement, Klein ISD said that students and faculty underwent a fire drill at about 1:12 p.m. The school district said it proceeded with emergency protocol and alerted the fire department as they tried to figure out what was going on.

When ABC13 reached out to the fire department for more information on what happened, officials said there was some kind of fire in a trash can on campus.
Officials said an investigation is underway to determine if the fire was accidentally or intentionally set.

At this time, there are no reports of injuries.
