WISCONSIN (KTRK) -- JJ Watt used his first Facebook Live to introduce his fans to the person who inspired him to become a football player.

Watt went to Wisconsin to surprise his fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Keefe, to celebrate her retirement after 41 years of teaching.

"She is my favorite teacher of all time, who happens to be the teacher who told me I could play for the Wisconsin Badgers, told me I could play for the NFL. She is one of the biggest inspirations for me. She's unbelievable," Watt said.

Watt walked up to her classroom and greeted Keefe with a big cake.

"What are you doing here," Keefe asked. "What's going on?"

"We brought a cake," Watt said.

"For what?"

Watt also surprised Keefe with some shoes and a trip to Houston for her and her husband for the annual charity classic game on Mother's Day weekend.

Keefe turned to her students and told them about the time she told Watt he could be a Badger, but that he had to work hard.

"You can do whatever you want to do," Keefe said.
