HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former teacher at a southwest Houston school will spend 17 years behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts related to child pornography.

Jason Dion Johnson, 51, on Friday received a 204-month and a 120-month sentence for receipt and possession charges, respectively. The sentences will run concurrently. Johnson will then serve 15 years of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender.

Johnson was also ordered to pay $70,000 in restitution to four known victims.

According to investigators, Johnson had videos and images of prepubescent girls "being sexually exploited" on his personal computer. Agents also found VHS tapes that appeared to contain hidden camera footage from a changing area for school-age girls.

In 1998, Johnson pleaded guilty to indecent exposure, a charge the Texas Education Agency said should have shown up in a background check. Still, Johnson was hired at Beechnut Academy just two years later, where he worked for 16 years.
