HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway into a plane crash that killed a father and son at a Huntsville airport on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two were on board a Cessna 150K departing Huntsville before they were killed in the crash while practicing flying.

Officials said the call came in just before noon at the Huntsville Municipal Airport.
DPS said the father and son were the only ones on board. They were identified as pilot Elijah Bishop and his son, co-pilot Ethan Bishop.
One of them reportedly died at the scene of the crash, while the other died on the way to the hospital.
The Walker County Office of Emergency Management advised the public to avoid the area as several first responders canvas the crash site.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
