Enjoy the Houston Symphony at home with 4th performance in Living Room series

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- The Houston Symphony is extending its popular "Living Room Series," which offers live-stream recitals from the homes of the symphony's world-class musicians.

Each performance will feature a different musician, and many will be joined by members of their family.

Houston Symphony Executive Director and CEO John Mangum said, "Since we can't perform live in Jones Hall, we thought a series of live, online recitals would be a great way to enjoy their artistry and creativity. These intimate home performances will allow audiences to get to experience them in a way that you can't in the context of our orchestral concerts."

Since launching on May 1, the series has included performances from Principal Keyboard Scott Holshouser, Principal Clarinet Mark Nuccio, Principal Cello Brinton Averil Smith, and Associate Principal Viola Joan derHovsepian.

On May 29, Houston Symphony Principal Second Violin MuChen Hsieh performed along with John Diodati, clarinet.

On June 5, Houston Symphony Concertmaster Yoonshin Song will perform along with Alexandros Sakarellos, 2nd violin with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

On June 12, Houston Symphony Principal Flute Aralee Dorough will perform along with with Colin Gatwood, oboe, and Corin Gatwood, bass.

On June 19, Houston Symphony Principal Double Bass Robin Kesselman will perform along with Allegra Lilly, Principal Harp, of the St. Louis Symphony.

On June 26, Houston Symphony Associate Principal Flute Matthew Roitstein will perform along with Kara LaMoure, bassoon and Andrew Staupe, piano.
