HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A reported road rage shooting that blocked inbound lanes of the I-10 Katy Freeway near Voss started from two drivers who were exchanging information for only a minor crash, police said.

According to Hedwig Village police, who are investigating the incident, two drivers pulled over to the emergency lane of I-10 to exchange their info when one of them pulled out a gun.

Police said a struggle then took place over the weapon, with the unarmed motorist getting a hold of the other's gun. Investigators believe three shots were fired.

"One of the parties pulled a firearm on the other. There was a tussle for the firearm, and the person pulling the firearm was shot with his own firearm," said Sgt. Marvin Collins of Hedwig Village police.

The wounded person was listed in good condition at a nearby hospital.
