HPD searching for suspect in fatal shooting in SW Houston

Tuesday, November 21, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police are searching for a man who shot a 21-year-old multiple times at the Carlyle Apartments in southwest Houston.

Family identified the victim as Darrian Young.

He had been living with this grandfather and mother at the apartment complex since his home was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey.

Police say the shooter fired several shots, first from a distance, then from short range.

"Right now it looks like it may be some type of vengeance," said HPD Homicide Detective Jerry Young. "I can't say for sure, but just looking at the evidence, that's what we believe happened."

Police believe Young was specifically targeted for some reason.
