Houston sends relief supplies to Puerto Rico hurricane victims

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The City of Houston sent a plane filled with 55 pallets of supplies to Puerto Rico Thursday.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced the city teamed up with the Houston Astros, United Airlines, and other groups to help the people of Puerto Rico who were hit hard by Hurricane Maria.

Mayor Turner said in light of the outpouring of support for Houston after Harvey, the city can help.

ABC13 reporter Miya Shay traveled with the supplies to Puerto Rico to get a firsthand look at the devastation left behind by the storm.
