Nearly 50 dogs rescued from hoarder need homes

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Nearly 50 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation are in need of loving homes, according to the Houston Humane Society.

The animal rescue organization said it assisted in saving the canines on Jan. 31.

Several of the animals are awaiting new homes, but many will need foster care due to various ailments.

The dogs include Chihuahua-mix breeds and a couple retriever-mix.

Bobby is a 7-year-old dachshund/Chihuahua mix in need of foster care. He can be a little shy around new people. He'll need a foster through heartworm treatment.none

Bronson is a 5 year-old Chihuahua/dachshund mix who is great with other dogs, but is still learning to trust people. He is heartworm positive and in need of a foster home.none

Chaco is a 5 year-old terrier/Chihuahua mix. He's a calm, low maintenance guy that would love to find a family of his own. He's ready to start heartworm treatment.none

Cynthia is a 5 year-old Chihuahua mix. She's great with other dogs, good with people. She needs to go through heartworm treatment, and she is available for foster or adoption.none

Laslo is a 5 year-old Chihuahua/dachshund mix. He's a mellow guy that enjoys being a lap dog. He is ready to start heartworm treatment as soon as a foster or adopter steps up.none

Mosley is a 1 year-old retriever mix and is one of the few dogs from the hoarding case that is heartworm negative. A foster home would help him work on his confidence.none

Peggy Lee is a 4 year-old dachshund/Chihuahua mix. She is one of the shyest dogs rescued from the hoarding case. Peggy Lee needs heartworm treatment.none

Rey is a 1-year-old retriever mix. She needs a foster to help her with socialization with people. She likes going for walks with volunteers, and she's heartworm negative.none

Trevor is an 8-year-old Chihuahua mix. He is fantastic with other dogs. He's ready to start heartworm treatment as soon as a foster or adopter is found.none
