Houston SPCA to seek custody of 8 horses rescued from Brookshire property

BROOKSHIRE, Texas (KTRK) -- Eight malnourished horses and foals were rescued Wednesday from a property in Brookshire.

The Houston SPCA says the animals were in desperate need of veterinary care, and are receiving help from their equine staff.

The SPCA says nutritious food will be slowly reintroduced into the horses' diet.

The organization will ask a judge to award the SPCA custody of the horses next week.
