Timeline of events from Friday's high-speed police chase

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- As a dramatic high-speed police chase unfolded north of Houston on Friday morning, ABC13 was the first station on the air and even played a part in bringing the chase to an end. Take a look back at the timeline of events as they unfolded:

10:22 a.m. ABC13 is the first Houston television station on the air, following the chase on Houston Transtar traffic cameras.

10:29 a.m. SkyEye arrives on the scene of the chase, which had progressed southward along the North Freeway.

10:30 a.m. The driver of the grey Ford Taurus exits the freeway and merges onto Shepherd Drive, blowing through multiple red lights at a high rate of speed.

Chase suspect calls ABC13, told to "pull over"


10:34 a.m. The driver hits spike strips positioned by Houston police and punctures her left front tire.

10:35 a.m. The suspect places a call to the ABC13 news desk and speaks with Eyewitness News managing editor Julie Griffin, who pleaded with her to pull over as she approached the Heights. The driver identifies herself as Jessica Latrese Chatman.

10:38 a.m. Griffin convinces Chatman to slow down, and she pulls into a parking lot and surrenders to police at Durham and 11th Street.
