New CPR technique requires a "hands only" approach

Tuesday, May 30, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A new heart campaign is showing the simple steps that could help save a life when someone goes into cardiac arrest.

The new initiative shows that when doing CPR, mouth-to-mouth is no longer needed.

"The only thing that is required to save someone's life is to do hands only CPR," Dr. Holly Andersen said.

She said there are three steps to saving someone's life: check, call and compress.
