Monday, March 27, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The toll from last night's shooting is hitting residents at Haverstock Hills Apartments hard.

"We need to pray. I can't stress that enough. If that park would have been filled with children it could have been worse," said Haverstock Hill resident Andrea.

Investigators said an argument turned very violent when a man got out of the car, grabbed a gun from the trunk and fired into the group.

"He clicked it and just raised it up and I heard the first round and just started running," said eyewitness Tonya Brooks.

Brandy Rusher was shot on March 26 in Houston.

The complex was full of people on Sunday evening as parents grabbed their kids and took cover, but the toll was already tough and residents have had enough.

"There's really some good people here. People trying to make it from day to day. When people come in here and do this it gives the whole complex a bad name," said Andrea.
