Have you seen this car? Suspects stole it before girl's death

Friday, November 18, 2016
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County authorities have released photos of a vehicle sought in connection to the murder of 4-year-old Ava Castillo.

Investigators are searching for a black Honda Accord with the license plate GBV0987. The vehicle was taken in a reported carjacking at approximately 6:45pm on the date of the incident.

The vehicle was also caught on camera entering the complex behind the car driven by Castillo's mother. "It comes in about 20 seconds behind our victims, through the entrance gate, so they either followed them in or they were already circling the complex looking for a potential victim," conjectured Deputy David Crain with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

"That Black Honda Accord is still out and we need that car badly. We're pleading for the public's help in finding that car and pleading for help in identifying the subjects responsible for killing this 4-year-old," added Deputy Crain.

Ava was shot along with her mother and 10-year-old sister this week during an apparent robbery.
