Four students are facing criminal charges after guns were found at three different high schools in the Greater Houston area, according to officials.

Two students from Humble ISD were arrested in the same incident at Atascocita High School. One Fort Bend ISD student was arrested for the incident at Almeta Crawford High School, and another student from the same district was arrested for the one at Dulles High School.

The arrests come as students and staff members head back to school, but Fort Bend and Humble ISD didn't specify if they believe the cases are related.

A high school student is facing charges after being accused of bringing an unloaded handgun to a new Fort Bend ISD campus, according to the district.

On Wednesday, the school administration said they received a report about a firearm being at Crawford High, located at 801 Caldwell Ranch Blvd.

Administrators and a campus officer immediately removed the suspected student from class and searched their backpack, according to Fort Bend ISD police.

The district said an unloaded handgun was found inside the student's backpack. There were no reported injuries, the district added.

School police said charges are being pursued, and the student is no longer on campus.
"We are thankful this matter was resolved without incident, and the community is safe," Fort Bend ISD Police Department said in a statement.

Humble ISD police arrest 2 Atascocita High School students, principal says

Atascocita High School received a tip Wednesday morning, saying a student possibly had a weapon on campus, according to the principal.

In a letter to parents, Principal Will Falker said administrators found a gun in one student's backpack within minutes of the tip.

The school says the police took the student into custody. Investigators believe another student brought the gun to the school and gave it to the student who put it in the backpack.

The second student was also taken into custody, and both high schoolers face a charge of carrying a weapon in places prohibited, which is a third-degree felony.

"The proactive sharing of information is the most important safety strategy. Our system worked to resolve this serious concern quickly and without incident. Parents, staff, and students help ensure the safety of everyone," Falker said in part of the letter.

Falker said if you ever see something suspicious, please report it to the school staff, Humble ISD police (281-641-7900), or through the Humble ISD iHELP app.

Fort Bend ISD student accused of bringing gun to Dulles High School, district says

Fort Bend ISD had another scare after a second high school reportedly had a gun on campus Wednesday morning.

A student at Dulles High School is facing criminal charges after allegedly bringing a handgun to class, according to the district.

An Eyewitness News caller said they received a letter from the school after 4 p.m., although the district said the weapon was found earlier in the school day.

Fort Bend ISD said when the report was received, the school administrators and the campus officer "immediately removed the student from the classroom, conducted a search, and confiscated the handgun."

The district sent a similar letter to parents at Dulles HS as they did to Crawford HS families, saying, "We are thankful this matter was resolved without incident, and the community is safe."
