Orange juice prices soar after Hurricane Irma hits Florida

Wednesday, September 27, 2017
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (KTRK) -- You may notice an increase in the price of orange juice next time you're at the grocery store.

The Florida Department of Citrus says a gallon of OJ is expected to rise almost $2.

That's because a large portion of Florida's orange crop was damaged by Hurricane Irma.

Experts say there is a chance the shortfall may be avoided if Brazil is able to increase exports to the United States.
