Guardrail pierces through car in northeast Houston fatal crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A guardrail pierced through a vehicle late Sunday night in a crash that killed a driver in northeast Houston.

The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the area of Homestead and Hamill.

Police say the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the guardrail that separates the sidewalk and the road on an overpass.

The railing was seen sticking out of a rear passenger door after the crash.

It is not known whether alcohol was involved.
