Precious reunion as tiny hurricane evacuees are reunited with parents

Wednesday, September 6, 2017
GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- They may have been some of the smallest victims from Hurricane Harvey.

Eight babies who had to be airlifted out of a Beaumont hospital last week are back with their parents.

Hospital officials knew the babies would need constant care and didn't take any chances, flying them to UTMB in Galveston.

The hospital in Beaumont now has access to clean water, so the babies were brought back by ambulance Tuesday.

A neonatologist flew with the babies and stayed with them until they arrived back home to Beaumont.
