SPLENDORA, Texas (KTRK) -- If you ever have to take a trip to the local police department, you probably want to keep your illegal drugs away from officers.

According to the Splendora Police Department, officers responded to a car crash on Dec. 5. One of the drivers was taken to the police station after it was discovered he had a warrant for his arrest.

At the police station, the driver was able to contact his friend to help with a payment on his city warrant.

Police said the friend arrived and pulled out something they didn't expect. The friend pulled from his pocket a large sum of cash and a bag of crystal meth.

"Needless to say the friend not only paid for his buddy's warrant, but won him a free trip with room and board paid for at the Montgomery County Jail," the department posted on Facebook.
