Police search for suspects following a violent drive-by shooting on Houston's south side

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are searching for two men who took off after a drive-by shooting on Houston's south side.

Officers responded to a call at a home on Seabrook Street around 1 a.m. after reports that unidentified suspects fired shots at the home and then sped off.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect's stolen vehicle crashed into a ditch.

Officers say the suspects fled on foot.

At least one bullet hit a duplex with a family with children as young as 1 and 2 years old inside.

A 15-year-old told Eyewitness News that she was inside her home with her mom, sisters, dad and nephew when she heard gunshots hitting their home.

"I'm lucky to be alive," said the young witness. "I'm too young to die."



Authorities say at least 10 bullets hit the family's home.

There were no reported injuries.
