Thursday, August 31, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- More than 100 adoptable animals from the Houston SPCA packed their bags and are headed to the Atlanta Humane Society.

The dogs left to create space for the thousands of rescued animals expected after surviving this catastrophic storm.

The Houston SPCA's Wildlife Center of Texas has already received over 200 storm victims including baby squirrels, opossums, fawns, ducks and rabbits.

Animal rescuers and rehabbers are bracing for incoming patients as the floodwaters begin to recede.
