Dog rescued from sewer preparing for adoption

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- After a rough few weeks, a beautiful dog is preparing to emBARK on a new beginning.

We first met the unnamed pup earlier this week, when officials from the city of Houston and the SPCA were working to rescue him from a storm sewer.

At the time of his rescue, the dog was believed to had been on the streets for several weeks. Neighbors say he came from a house that had been abandoned for more than a month.

Since then, the rescued dog has been under the loving care of the Houston SPCA.

SPCA director of donor engagement Stacy Fox said the pup has had a bath and is now resting comfortably. If he is not claimed at the end of the stray holding period, he will go up for adoption.

It's imPAWsibble to think that somebody wouldn't want to welcome such a radiant dog into their life!
