Standoff ends with suspect found dead
As deputies attempted to enter the home, they encountered gunfire coming through the ceiling from the second floor. Officers retreated from the home and exchanged further gunfire with the suspect.
Trained hostage negotiators spoke with the man for several hours before sending a robot into the home.
The robot spotted the man lying on the floor. When deputies entered the home for a second time, they found the man dead with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A weapon was found nearby.
