DPS trooper fatally shoots robbery suspect in NW Houston, HPD confirms

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A DPS trooper shot and killed a robbery suspect in northwest Houston Friday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Department and DPS troopers responded to reports of an aggravated robbery at a T-Mobile store located on Antoine and Victory Drive around 7:40 p.m.

Investigators say a DPS trooper saw the suspect robbing a T-Mobile store and tried to arrest the suspect.

Investigators say the suspect reportedly pulled out a weapon and the DPS trooper discharged his weapon, fatally shooting the suspect. No officers were injured.

The robbery suspect is also suspected in several other armed robberies around the city.

Multiple agencies are currently investigating the incident including HCSO, HPD and DPS.
