Man known as Bear sought in connection with deadly fight

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Crime Stoppers needs the public's help identifying a man nicknamed Bear after a fight at a southern Houston nightclub turned deadly.

According to investigators, Bear punched Mitchell Bluitt in the head on the evening on Sept. 3 in the 6500 block of Allegheny Street. Bluitt then fell, hitting his head and sustaining serious injuries.

Bluitt was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced brain dead and removed from life support.

Bear is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old. He is approximately 6'04" tall and weighs around 230 pounds. At the time of the fight, he was wearing his hair in short braids that were tied at the top of his head.

Anybody with information about Bear's identity is asked to contact Houston police in reference to case 1134462-17.
