New bill would require less hours to earn cosmetology license

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A new bill would cut the number of hours required for a cosmetology license.

The requirement would change from 1,500 training hours to 1,000. Supporters of the bill said the change would allow students to get out of school and into the workforce faster.
