At about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance with weapons at the Alys apartments on 15000 Mansions View Dr., off I-45 in the College Park area. Once on scene, officers found Talat Jehan Khan with multiple stab wounds at a picnic table in the common area of the complex.
Police said the suspect, later identified as Fridrich, fled on foot. Through witnesses' descriptions, authorities found him nearby on Johnson-Martin Road.
Khan succumbed to her injuries at the scene, police said.
"Obviously, we lost a good, young person in this world. All for nothing, you know? It can't be that bad that you kill a person. I just don't get that. It's horrible. It's a life, a young person's life," Sharon J., a neighbor, said.

As the investigation continues, it's unclear if Khan and Fridrich knew each other or if either of them lived at the complex. A motive was not immediately known.
Records show Fridrich is being held on a $500,000 bond.
