Jack Harlow, Jake Owen announced as musical acts for the 2024 CFP National Championship weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- We are less than two months away from Houston hosting the College Football Playoff National Championship, and we have learned all the festivities set to take place for January's big game.

The CFP National Championship game is on Jan. 8 at NRG Stadium, and the fan events will take place from Jan. 5-7 at Shell Energy Stadium.

On Thursday, CFP representatives announced the cool events before the game and the musical acts that will perform that weekend. So what's in store?

Playoff Fan Central



Fans can enjoy a free, three-day family fun event at the George R. Brown Convention Center. There, spectators can enjoy games, pep rallies, E-Sports clinics, and exhibits that showcase college football history.

Held at Shell Energy Stadium, several acts are slated to perform their biggest hits to kickoff the exciting weekend, and it's free for all three days.

Friday, Jan. 5, come out and enjoy a special performance by Billboard's No.1 kids artist for nearly a decade: Kidz Bop.



On Saturday, Jan. 6, watch Houston heats with two-time Grammy-nominated female rapper Latto and Billboard award-winner Jack Harlow perform.

The last day of the festivities will see county music's hottest artists, such as rising musician Megan Moroney, Grammy-nominated artist Jake Owen, and chart-topping fan favorite John Pardi.

The fun doesn't stop there as on Sunday, fans can register for the Trophy Trot 5K and 10K, which supports the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yards for Teachers.

Then to cap off the night, head on over to Union Station at Minute Maid Park for the Taste of Championship . It is a premium dining experience where fans can enjoy gourmet food and drinks prepared by Houston chefs.
